The Washington State Olympic Strength and Conditioning program is now accepting 2 applications for volunteer interns for Summer 2021 through Fall 2021 Semester. This internship would coincide with our Undergrad Minor in S&C Program. WSU is the only program in the Pacific Northwest that offers a Strength and Conditioning Minor that is endorsed by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. These positions are UNPAID. Successful candidates will work with a variety of sports and assist with all training sessions in compliance with NCAA rules.

Position responsibilities will consist of, but are not limited to, the following: assisting the staff in all aspects of the strength and speed programs, setting up and breaking down of training sessions, assisting with routine maintenance of training facilities, assisting with nutrition, and other assigned duties. This internship program consists of a rigorous academic curriculum along with a practical component.

Minimum requirements: a current CPR/AED certification, a strong work ethic, punctuality, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional.

Preferred qualifications include: Working towards your Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field, SCCC, CSCS, or USAW certifications, or experience as a collegiate athlete.

This positions allows for participants to apply for the NSCA Foundation Assistantship to aid in living expenses. Details for the Assistantship can be found at https://www.nsca.com/assistantship/. Information about the NSCA Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach will be emailed out once participant has started their internship. This internship also offers the opportunity to work under a certified SCCC Mentor.
