Dr. Eric Sobolewski

Ph.D.

Dr. Eric Sobolewski is currently a faculty member in the department of Health Sciences at Furman University. Prior to that he was at Texas Tech University working in the Human Performance lab in the Department of Kinesiology and Sports Management. He currently teaches Exercise Physiology and other various classes in the Health Science department while conducting research on human performance in the Molnar Lab. He has over 25 peer reviewed publications and over 50 abstract presentations at national or regional conferences. Prior to his time in academia he was the lead strength and conditioning coach for Weber States Men’s basketball and worked with the other 14 sports teams. During his time as a strength coach Weber won 6 Conference championships and had a NBA lottery pick and numerous NFL draft picks. He currently still consults with coaches and players from around the country and across many different sports. He holds a CSCS certification from the NSCA and is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine. He is also a scientific reviewer from journals such as Muscle and Nerves and Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research.

He earned his bachelor’s degree from Utah State University in Kinesiology. He also holds two master’s degrees, one from Utah State in Biomechanics and a MBA from Weber state. He completed his doctoral work from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill in Human Movement Science.
