Jamie Wynn

GPP: Ideas and Strategies for Year-Round Training - General Session

With nearly two decades of professional experience, Jamie Wynn arrived at SMU in August 2020 and serves as the Director of Olympic Sports Performance. Wynn is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), is Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa) and is American Heart Association CPR/AED certified. In her current position, Wynn oversees all design and implementation of Olympic sports for the Human Performance Department. She also serves as a liaison between athletic medical staff, student-athletes, coaches, and administration and is tasked with assisting student-athletes in return to play alongside the athletic training staff. Wynn arrived on the Hilltop after working as an assistant strength and conditioning coach working with swimming and diving, gymnastics and the track & field throws group at Auburn. Outside of her duties developing student-athletes, Wynn served as intern coordinator and oversaw both interns and graduate assistants. Prior to her time with the Tigers, Wynn was an assistant director serving her second stint at Nevada, working with men’s soccer and tennis. Wynn had previously spent four years with the program from 2012-16 and was responsible for the strength and conditioning efforts of several programs, helping men’s soccer to a pair of conference championships and NCAA Tournament appearances and men’s swimming and diving to three league titles. Wynn has also made stops as a strength and conditioning coach at Arkansas State, Oklahoma, Iowa, and Missouri. She has also served in roles outside of collegiate athletics. Wynn was a strength and conditioning coach with Cirque Du Soleil Performance Conditioning where she oversaw strength, nutrition and recovery methods for elite level swimmers, divers, gymnasts, aerialists, acrobats, and dancers. Wynn was also a fitness and sports specialist with the Air Force Material Command (AFMC) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Her duties included planning, implementing and managing a comprehensive fitness program for 800+ military personnel. A veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom, Wynn was awarded an Army Achievement Medal (AAM) and Overseas Service Ribbon in 2005 and 2009. She has served as an administration specialist and in psychology operations for the United States Army National Guard and Reserves since 2002. Here, Wynn has assisted with operations for Kosovo Force 10 and participated in the Ulchi-Focus Lens exercise in 2005. Wynn earned a degree in psychology from Missouri in 2007 and went on to earn a Master of Education in health education and promotion from Missouri in 2010. Named the Big 12 Woman of the Year in 2007, Wynn was a three-time All-Big 12 academic selection and a two-time all-conference athlete in the discus. Wynn qualified for NCAA Regionals three times and was honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on two occasions.
