Grand View University Strength and Conditioning department is seeking a Graduate Assistant starting the Fall 2021 Semester. Ideal candidate preferably able to arrive in the summertime and gain experience. Graduate Assistants will assist with all teams, as well as have the opportunity to design, implement, train, and monitor all phases of the strength and conditioning programs for specified team(s) of their own. Graduate Assistant will also be a part of staff meetings, intern development, and continuing education/professional development as set by the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach.

Responsibilities: Responsibilities will include various duties within the Grand View Strength and Conditioning department. Candidates will be required to fulfill coaching curriculum, and receive valuable on-the-floor coaching. Responsibilities will be assigned as they are earned. Hours will vary and will include early mornings and late afternoons. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for various sports, daily maintenance and upkeep of facility.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field required. Actively pursuing SCCC/CSCS/USAW, CPR certified, and a strong desire to pursue a career in the strength & conditioning field. CSCCa mentorship is available to assist your eligibility for the certification. Candidates must possess strong communication skills, positive energy, attention to detail, sense of urgency, and strong work ethic. Skills and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Teambuildr, and GymAware will be helpful.
