University of Mobile’s Athletic Department is seeking a Graduate Assistant position in the Strength and Conditioning Program for the upcoming 2021-2022 academic year. With supervision from the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, the candidate will develop and implement strength and conditioning sessions for assigned teams. The candidate will assist the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach with duties such as facility maintenance and oversight, program development and implementation, data collection and input, and other duties as assigned by Strength Coach or Athletic Administration. The position will include duties to cover a 10 month period starting August 1 and ending May 31.

University of Mobile is an NAIA Division I school that competes in the SSAC and has 20 sports. UM is located in south Alabama just a few exits north of Mobile. Compensation: Candidate will receive a waiver of tuition for up to six graduate hours per semester (fall and spring) for each semester of an award. Students are responsible for other fees and expenses associated with their program. Candidate will also receive on-campus housing. Position must be renewed on an annual basis. Candidate may complete the CSCCa mentorship program and sit for the SCCC certification exam.

Requirements: Bachleor’s degree in exercise science or related field is preferred. Acceptance into University of Mobile’s Graduate Program and enrollment as a graduate student by the first day of class. Pursuing SCCC or CSCS certification. First Aid/CPR/AED certification. Internship experience is preferred. GPA of 3.0 or above. Must maintain good academic standing and a GPA of 3.0 or above and abide by University of Mobile Student and Employee Handbooks. Must maintain good standing with Head Strength & Conditioning Coach based on regular evaluations. Work 15-20hrs a week with potential opportunity for other compensation.
