Minimum Position Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years strength & conditioning coaching experience at the collegiate or professional sports level.
-Current CPR/AED certification required.
-Must currently hold and maintain CSCS or SCCC certification.

Special Conditions
The department is especially interested in candidates who hold a master’s degree, and have experience in strength and conditioning in the sports of soccer, baseball as well as track and field. Additional consideration given to those who are designated as a registered dietitian.

Work Schedule
-Monday — Friday
-Work hours will be dependent on sport program needs.
-Will require work beyond normal schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays. May have to travel as needed.

Positions Supervised
Will supervise assistant strength coaches, interns, volunteers, and student workers.

-Ability to educate student-athletes on safe and effective sport performance, training, and recovery.

Duties & Responsibilities
Program Design:
Develops and monitors strength & conditioning programs for assigned varsity athletic teams.

Foresees potential injury risks and takes preventative measures; in the event of injury capable of implementing an emergency medical procedures.

Organization & Administration:
Oversee all aspects of weight room including but not limited too; assignment of staff for specific sports, training times, facilities, budget and equipment oversight.

Organizes team and supervisor orientation, follow-up meetings, in-service training meetings for supervisors, and nutrition and weight management meetings.

Assists with general maintenance and cleaning of the Strength & Conditioning facility and equipment.

Assist each sport with the recruitment of student athletes.

Testing & Evaluation:
Oversee all aspects of fitness testing, computation of results, and evaluation of individual athletes.

Assist with anthropomorphical assessment measures.

Exercise Science:
Demonstrates an understanding of human muscle physiology in order to appropriately design safe and effective exercise programs and obtain desired results.

Demonstrates an understanding of human bioenergetics and metabolism in order to appropriately design safe, effective and activity-specific exercise programs and obtain desired results.

Duties & Responsibilities
Utilizes information concerning weight loss and weight gain in order to prescribe training programs that bring about desired results in body composition, strength, and muscular and cardiovascular endurance.

Recognizes symptoms and behaviors associated with eating disorders utilizing physical performance evaluations and observations.

Assist in oversight of Nutrition fueling station.
