Louisville Sports Performance Applied Coaching Mentorship (Olympic Sports)

University of Louisville Athletics

Louisville Sports Performance is accepting applications for voluntary internship positions working with Olympic Sports for the fall semester of 2024. This is a semester-long position that will begin in August 2025 and end in December 2024.

Responsibilities

-Complete LSP mentorship curriculum: including classroom sessions, coaching demonstrations, readings, written assignments, and special projects

-Assist performance staff in developing and implementing performance programs for Olympic sports: including strength, speed, conditioning, and testing sessions

-Facility maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep

Preferred Qualifications

-Ability to commit to at least 15 hours per week

-Previous experience in athletics, strength training, or formal exercise instruction

-Currently pursuing or holding an exercise science or related degree

-Interest in pursuing a career in strength and conditioning or related field

Compensation

This is an unpaid position. Motivated interns will gain experience and knowledge in collegiate sports performance.

CEU - the National Strength and Conditioning Association approved 2.0 CEU(s) in category C for certified individuals who successfully complete this internship. Exemption: CEU’s unavailable if receiving academic credit for internship.
