Eastern Michigan University’s Sports Performance Department is seeking highly motivated internship candidates for the fall of 2024. Individuals will gain knowledge and experience in a Division I Collegiate Sports Performance setting.
Responsibilities:
-Assist with supervision and coaching of training sessions for all sports as assigned
-Weight Room Management Duties
- Set up and break down of training sessions
-Providing a positive training atmosphere for the student-athletes
-Routine maintenance of facility
-Successful completion of Internship Curriculum
- Frequent technology administration and data transferring (Force Plates, Velocity Based Training Systems, & GPS)
Any other duties as assigned by the staff
Interns are required to work a minimum of 20 hours per week
Requires long hours standing, sitting, walking, running, jumping, and other physical activity
- Must be able to lift at least 50lbs
-Must be flexible to frequently changing work hours
Qualifications:
-Currently pursuing bachelors or masters degree in exercise science, sport management, or related field
-Certified in or pursuing CPR/First Aid
-A strong desire to become a Sports Performance Coach
-Plans to pursue a nationally recognized strength and conditioning certification through either the National Strength and Conditioning Association or Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association
