The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill Department of Olympic Sports Performance is now accepting applications for volunteer intern positions for the Spring 2025 semester (January 6th - May 2nd).
Candidates should have a strong desire to pursue a career in coaching. Our internship provides a comprehensive learning experience that will equip aspiring coaches with the skills and competencies necessary to establish themselves as professionals. This internship may be used to fulfill course credit.
Responsibilities include:
Assistance with implementing weight room and on-field/on-court training sessions for various sports.
Test administration and data analysis.
Attendance and participation in weekly education and professional development workshops.
Completion of assigned education and program design projects.
Maintenance of facility and equipment.
Preferred Qualifications: Currently pursuing a bachelors/masters degree in exercise science or related field, certified in CPR/First Aid, a strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach and pursuing CSCCa-SCCC and/or NSCA-CSCS certification(s).
Compensation: This is an unpaid volunteer position. This internship may fulfill course credit.
You will gain practical skills and experience in the field of Strength & Conditioning, build relationships with mentor coaches, and expand your professional network.
