Texas A&M University-Kingsville Strength & Conditioning is currently accepting applications for one (1) Graduate Assistant Strength & Conditioning coach. This position is set to begin August, 2025 with the possibility of starting June, 2025.

1) Qualified & Certified - must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science (or related field) and be working toward certification with CSCCa, USAW, or NSCA. Must be certified in First Aid and CPR. 2) A Commitment to Coach a career decision has been made. 3) A Desire to Teach embrace on the job training for the purpose of transforming others. 4) A Mission First Mindset you want to work for an idea and cause bigger than yourself. 5) A Willingness to Grind & Grow a self-starter with a sense of pride in what you do and how you do it; a no-matter-what mindset. This is not for everyone. 6) A Strategic & Tactical Thinker understand and value planning the work then working the plan with the ability to step back and see the big picture. 7) A Practitioner experience as a student-athlete; time spent training, conditioning, practicing & competing.

What you’ll be expected to do:
Contribute to all aspects of the Javelina Strength & Conditioning program: 1) Design, implement, and evaluate training programs for assigned teams. 2) Effectively guide and teach progressions and techniques of all training activities. 3) Supervision of all training activities; setting the example for conduct. 4) Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the weight room and conditioning areas. 5) Any other related duties as assigned by the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach. 6) Must maintain a high academic standing while progressing towards and completing a graduate degree.
What you need to know:
1) This position includes a semester stipend, full tuition waiver, discounted housing and meal plan. 2) Ideal candidates are those who have made the decision to become high school or college coaches. 3) Must possess the strength and stamina to handle the daily disciplines of academic and coaching responsibilities. 4) Must have a determined work ethic, effective communication skills, and be passionate about continued growth and development as a coach. 5) Prospective candidates should be prepared to work a variety of times including days, nights, weekends and holidays. 6) Hours will vary throughout the semester and may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends. 7) The ability to withstand adverse weather conditions, i.e., extreme heat or cold is also necessary.
