Position Overview:
The University of Missouri-St. Louis Sports Performance Department is accepting applications for their Fall 2025 Sports Performance Internship. This is a volunteer position that offers Division II experience with 17 varsity sports and training in an educational environment. The Sports Performance Intern will work directly with the Director of Sports Performance, gaining hands-on experience in the administration and operations of a collegiate sports performance department. This internship is designed to provide interns with exposure to the leadership, strategic planning, and day-to-day functions of an NCAA Division II training center. Anticipated internship start date: August 11, 2025. Completion Date: December 12, 2025
Key Responsibilities:
-Assist with supervision and coaching of training sessions for all sports as assigned
-Weight Room Management Duties
-Set up and break down of training sessions
-Routine maintenance of facility
-Providing a positive training atmosphere for the student-athletes
-duties as assigned by the staff
-Interns are required to work a minimum of 20 hours per week
-Successful completion of Internship Curriculum
Qualifications:
-Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Sports Performance, Exercise Science, or a related field.
-Strong interest in collegiate athletics and sports performance.
-Excellent organizational and communication skills.
-Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
-Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Previous experience in athletics, sports team, sports performance internships, or student leadership roles.
-One or all listed certifications (NSCA-CSCS, CSCCa-SCCC, USAW, or a related Certification).
