Eastern Michigan University’s Sports Performance Department is seeking highly motivated internship candidates for the fall of 2025. Individuals will gain knowledge and experience in a Division I Collegiate Sports Performance setting.
Responsibilities:
· Assist with supervision and coaching of training sessions for all sports as assigned
· Weight Room Management Duties
o Set up and break down of training sessions
o Providing a positive training atmosphere for the student-athletes
o Routine maintenance of facility
· Successful completion of Internship Curriculum
· Frequent technology administration and data transferring (Force Plates, Velocity Based Training Systems, & GPS)
· Any other duties as assigned by the staff
· Interns are required to work a minimum of 20 hours per week
· Requires long hours standing, sitting, walking, running, jumping, and other physical activity
· Must be able to lift at least 50lbs
· Must be flexible to frequently changing work hours
Qualifications:
· Currently pursuing bachelors or masters degree in exercise science, sport management, or related field
· Certified in or pursuing CPR/First Aid
· A strong desire to become a Sports Performance Coach
· Plans to pursue a nationally recognized strength and conditioning certification through either the National Strength and Conditioning Association or Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association
