Cares and Concerns of the Young Strength & Conditioning Coach
Aaron Jung is the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for Morningside College Athletics.
Jung is entering his sixth year at Morningside, and during his time has been a part of two National Championships with Football in 2018 and 2019, as well as 15 Great Plains Athletic Conference Championships.
Jung was previously a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of Mary from 2013 to 2015. Prior to his time at the University of Mary, Jung was a strength and conditioning intern for Augustana University in Summer of 2012.
Jung obtained his Strength and Conditioning Coach Certification through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association in May 2016. Jung is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association since 2014. Jung is a Certified Sports Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting, and is FMS Level 1 certified through the Functional Movement Systems.
Jung graduated from Augustana College (University) in 2013 with bachelors of science degree in Exercise Science, and received a master’s degree in kinesiology with a concentration in human movement from the University of Mary in 2015.
Jung was a defensive lineman in football and a NCAA Division II All-American shot put thrower in track & field during his athletic career at Augustana.
Jung and his wife Lachel live in Sioux City, Iowa with their daughter Isla.
