Taylor Lorbiecki, Advanced Instructor of Physical Education and Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach, has been a driving force behind systematizing physical development at the United States Air Force Academy since 2018.
In her role at the Academy, Lorbiecki has emerged as a highly valued performance professional, leaving an indelible mark on intercollegiate athletic development, physical education, and tactical training. She leads the athletic development programs for the Air Force intercollegiate baseball, volleyball, and rifle teams, showcasing her versatility and expertise across a range of sports disciplines. One of Lorbiecki's primary responsibilities is serving as the Course Director for a core physical education course leading an instructor cadre of 14 while maintaining an annual enrollment of approximately 800 cadets. Her commitment to molding the next generation of Air and Space Force officers extends further, Lorbiecki enters her fifth year leading the tactical physical training program for Basic Cadet Training, where she guides approximately 1,000 basic cadets annually through a rigorous 6-week physical training program in preparation for their acceptance into the Cadet Wing.
Before her tenure at the Air Force Academy, Lorbiecki held key positions that contributed to her wealth of experience and expertise. As the Director of Sports Performance at Edge Fitness & Sports Performance in Windsor, Wisconsin, she led the development and execution of all athletic development programs. Prior to that, Lorbiecki served as the Head Strength and Conditioning coach for the University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's basketball team for two seasons.
Lorbiecki's journey toward excellence includes valuable experiences gained through performance internships. Notable among these is her year-long stint with the United States Ski and Snowboard Association in Park City, Utah, where she delved into the intricacies of high-performance, elite winter sports. Prior to, a summer spent with EXOS in Raleigh, North Carolina, provided Lorbiecki with insights into developing and operationalizing a systematic approach to training on a large scale.
Lorbiecki is not only recognized for her hands-on experience but also for her commitment to ongoing education and professional development. Holding multiple certifications, including the Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and EXOS Performance Specialist Certification (XPS), she continues to stay at the forefront of the ever-evolving profession.
