Robert Basile, MA, CSCCa is the Director of Strength & Conditioning at St. Johnâ??s University. His primary responsibility is to oversee the strength and conditioning program for all varsity sports except Basketball. He has served in this capacity since May 2001 and has been a part of the St. Johnâ??s athletic department since August 1996.
Rob works closely with the Baseball team and has helped in developing a nationally recognized program. He has also done research in the area of baseball performance testing.
In addition to his responsibilities as strength and conditioning coach, Rob is an adjunct professor in the College of Professional Studies sports management department.
Rob earned a MA in Exercise Physiology from Adelphi University (2006), a BS in accounting from St. Johnâ??s University (1987), is a collegiate strength and conditioning coach (CSCCa), certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS), and a USAW sports performance coach. He is also a certified instructor in Lay Responder First Aid and CPR/AED by the American Red Cross of Greater New York.
