Upper-, Lower-, and Total- body Power: A Practical Approach
The presentation will address what assessing power is, the unrealistic application of laboratory tests for large groups and the practical, real-world tests that can work. Various testing methods and what the tests are assessing will be presented and how the information can be used.
Dr. Waller earned his Doctorate in Exercise and Sport Science from The University of Utah, Master's Degree in Exercise Science from Concordia University in Chicago, Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education from Western Illinois University. Dr. Waller is a member of the Written Examination Board for the Strength and Conditioning Coach Certification (SCCC) for the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa) and is currently an associate professor at Arkansas Tech University in the Department of Health and Physical Education. Dr. Waller has over 20 years of experience and has worked as private strength coach (WCS-Gattone Sports Performance), & clinician (WCS-Occupational Rehabilitation), fitness director, and personal trainer. Dr. Waller has coached power-lifters and weightlifters, as well as preparing athletes for high school, collegiate athletics, and mixed martial arts.
