Mason Baggett

Mason Baggett has spent his career in Strength and Conditioning in some capacity since 2006.
Most recently as of this award, he was the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for Football at the University of Nevada, Reno.
He has also been fortunate to serve student athletes at the University of Oregon (‘21-22), the University of Maryland (‘16-21), the University of Illinois (‘15-16), East Carolina University (‘08-11) and Virginia Tech (‘06-08). He spent time at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs as a professional intern (2007). He was also the first Lead Strength and Conditioning Coach with the Marine Corps Special Operations Command’s (MARSOC) 2nd Marine Raider Battalion from 2011-2015.

Baggett credits the influence of many Strength and Conditioning professionals throughout his career and would like to thank the following coaches for their mentorship, friendship and professional relationships over the years:
Dr. Mike Gentry, Jeff Connors, Mike Golden, Aaron Hillmann, Mike Favre, Patrick Borkowski, Jarrett Ferguson, Ryan Davis, Aaron Feld, Danny Wheel, Matt Eck, Josh Eidson and Terry Mitchell.

Baggett, originally from Richmond, VA, was an Offensive Lineman at Virginia Tech from 2002-2006. He was a contributing member of legendary football coach Frank Beamer’s squads who went to 5 bowl games during his historic 23 consecutive bowl appearances. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in the Science of Food, Nutrition and Exercise as well as a Master’s of Science in Education in Health Promotion and Sport Performance.
He is married to the former Katie Virtue of St Charles, IL and together they have four children, Grace, Nora, Lucy and Colin.
