Brian Ciolek received his bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from the University of Central Missouri in 2005 and his master's degree in Exercise Science from California University of Central Missouri in 2008. He currently is the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Avila University. In 2019 he also took on the added responsibilities of Assistant Athletic Director. Ciolek is the first Strength and Conditioning coach in the history of Avila Athletics.
While at Avila he has been a part of three conference tournament teams and three regular season championships. Before coming to Avila, Ciolek spent the previous five years as the Wellness, Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for Park University. During his time at Park, he oversaw the strength and conditioning programs for the 2012 men’s volleyball national championship team, 2013 runners-up team, a softball national tournament qualifier and two men’s basketball national tournament qualifiers.
Ciolek is a Strength and Conditioning Coach-Certified through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association by completing his practicum under Coach Whitney Rodden at Mid-America Nazarene University with the football team.
He lives in Lee’s Summit, Mo. with his wife Angie and his daughters Ellie and Meeka. He enjoys the sports of soccer, mountain biking, kayaking, and adventure racing and is a multiple marathon/ultra-marathon finisher.
