A graduate of Valley City State University, Silbernagel started his path in strength and conditioning as a Graduate Assistant in 2003 at the University of North Dakota where he earned a master's degree in Kinesiology. He then became an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach at Colorado State from 2005-2010.
Currently, Silbernagel is in his 12th year as the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at the University of Mary. He started the Strength & Conditioning Department from the ground up in January of 2011 and now has two Graduate Assistants as part of his staff.
A competitive power lifter, Silbernagel was the 2010 USA Power Lifting 242-pound Raw National Champion. He still competes each year in the Relentless Minnesota while fundraising for Hope Kids.
