Curtis began coaching at Clemson University as a student volunteer assistant in 2000 under director of speed, strength, and Conditioning Joey Batson where he worked with football cheerleading and rowing as a Tiger. Upon graduation, Turner began his professional career at Vanderbilt University on the staff of John Sisk where he assisted with football and was responsible for the complete program for men's and women's golf and tennis teams. In 2010, he was promoted to director of strength and conditioning for Vanderbilt men's basketball, a role held until he departed for Georgia Tech in 2013 to become assistant director of strength and conditioning for football.
Curtis would like to thank the athletes, interns, and strength coaches who have made his time as a coach so meaningful. Further, a note of thanks is deserved for mentors Rob Morris who taught Turner what a strength coach was while leading his training, and Brian Allison who coached Turner in high school and put him in position to get his start in the profession. Finally, he would like to thank his parents Robert and Teresa Turner who have always supported and encouraged all of his life's passions and pursuits.
